PRESS RELEASE

GALLERY OPENING

4 February 2023, Rue Saint-Jean Népomucène 20, 1000 Bruxelles

Opening of the permanent space of the Grège Gallery in Brussels

Grège Gallery is pleased to announce the official opening of its permanent gallery in the heart of Brussels. For her first exhibition Marie has decided to present a single work, chosen by each artist she has already work with, creating a harmonious combination delicately accompanied by its selection of exceptional furniture.

The gallery presents temporary exhibitions in unusual locations such as the Ronde Bouw in Westmalle, the Brutalist house of Robert Janvier or the greenhouses of the Hulpe castle. The opening of this new, bright space will allow visitors to be welcomed between temporary exhibitions. This time Marie has invited her artists to personally choose a work to mark this first year of collaboration.

Like the insatiable appetite for the beautiful and the raw that governs Grège, this exhibition will offer you an uncommonly captivating curation of authenticity and imperfections that reflects space in the truest sense.

Founded in September 2021 following her passion for art and supported by her international training as an interior designer. Marie de Brouwer has a permanent desire to transmit her taste for the beautiful and the unexpected throughout the year through her permanent gallery. Grège Gallery showcases emerging artists and exceptional pieces of furniture selected from different countries and ethnicities.

The gallery now has its very first space located in the centre of Brussels between the Royal Flemish Theatre and the Pompidou Centre. An area in full evolution that art insiders already know well.

A meeting place

Marie's concept of exhibitions in unique, often unknown locations brings attention to objects of particular beauty and to the works of emerging artists that she has carefully selected.

An unusual place where the public can meet the works of artists J-B. Brueder, T. de Brouwer, J. Di Piazza, L. Fabre-Fiorio, G. Petracci, J. Renaudot, A. Scotta, C. Wayne and unique furniture from various ethnic groups from West Africa and Asia (unearthed) during Marie's many travels.

A mixture of purity and simplicity offering an approach to the illumination of space, Grège Galerie invites you to discover a dialogue of architecture, art and furniture.

The vernissage will take place on Thursday 2 February 2022, Rue Saint-Jean Népomucène 20, 1000 Brussels from 6pm onwards by invitation. The public opening will take place on 4 February from 11 am to 6 pm.
