She’s a ceramic artist based in Amsterdam. Before opening her studio in The Netherlands, she practiced ceramic in Japan and Portugal.

Her natural aesthetic style features minimalistic, harmonious shapes that celebrate the imperfections and beauty of simplicity. She expresses herself through the textures and organic nuances of clay, creating minimalist sculptures in pure and simple forms.

Laura aims to balance traditional techniques with organic clay textures, often leaving her works unglazed to showcase the material’s humble beauty. She prioritizes giving character to her pieces over perfecting them, leaving her fingerprints and tool marks as traces of her process and adding soul to the objects.

For the curious ones who don’t know Laura yet, Laura is a ceramic artist based in Amsterdam. Before opening her studio in The Netherlands, she practiced ceramic art in Japan and Portugal.

In her inherent artistic approach, she embraces a minimalist aesthetic characterized by harmonious shapes that exalt the charm found in imperfections and the allure of simplicity. Through the medium of clay, she articulates her creative expression, delving into the textures and organic subtleties to craft sculptures of pure and unembellished forms. Laura’s aspiration is to strike a delicate equilibrium between conventional techniques and the innate textures of organic clay. Frequently opting to forgo glazing, she unveils the unpretentious beauty intrinsic to the material. Her emphasis lies in bestowing character upon her creations rather than pursuing flawlessness, with her fingerprints and tool marks serving as tangible imprints of her artistic journey, infusing the objects with a distinct soulfulness.
