Yasuke is a Floor lamp released by Iskandar Degouis. The sculptural lamp is composed of a large solid body, covered by a wide helmet that reminds the sharpness of the cross swords motion. For that impressive presence, the lamp was named after the 16th century legend « Yasuke ». Yasuke was an african-origin man who traveled to Japan as a slave and a protector of a jesuite missionary. His remarkable physical and combative aptitudes made him such a great warrior that he was offered to the most powerful man of the country to become his vassal. After the suicide of his feudal lord, he was seen in many japanese battles as a fierce warrior.

Yasuke is an indoor lamp made out of two laser-cut 0,5mm raw aluminium sheets, scrateched and waxed by hand to create a unique imprint - each step is made in Belgium.
