The rain ritual is probably the most important in a farmer’s life. The Gourounsi made this type of jar to ask the spirits of nature to bring the precious water after sowing their land.
They enclosed tree leaves in it as an offering. Then the jar was placed in the middle of the field.
It has a cover but above all small balls that represent drops of rain.
